Capital and Big Sky are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bruins will venture away from home to face off against the Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Capital is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Saturday just wasn't the day for Capital's offense. They lost 9-0 to Helena on Saturday. That's two games in a row now that the Bruins have lost by exactly nine runs.

Meanwhile, Big Sky had just enough and edged out Butte 14-12 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won seven in a row.

The team relied heavily on Sadie McGuinn, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Irene Griswold, who went 2-for-3 with four runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Big Sky kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 11-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Capital's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Big Sky, their record is now 14-4.

Capital might still be hurting after the 16-4 loss they got from Big Sky in their previous meeting last Tuesday. Can the Bruins avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
