Volleyball Recap: Wharton Comes Up Short

Wharton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 33rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 3-0 to the El Campo Ricebirds. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Ricebirds when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-14, 25-13.

Wharton's loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for El Campo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-10 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Wharton is set to square off against their familiar foe La Marque at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, El Campo will challenge rival Bay City at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
