Montgomery is a perfect 10-0 against Castle Park since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Aztecs will be playing at home against the Trojans at 5:00 p.m. Montgomery is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
The home team had come away the winner the last six times Montgomery and Mar Vista had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Aztecs walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Mariners on Wednesday. The game was the first time the Aztecs have beaten the Mariners on their court since October 11, 2022.
Montgomery got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-20, 29-31, 25-22.
Meanwhile, Castle Park didn't have quite enough to beat Mar Vista on Friday and fell 3-2. While the Trojans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mariners 25-15 in the first set.
Castle Park started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 15-25, 22-25, 25-18, 25-15, 15-4.
Montgomery's win bumped their record up to 18-13. As for Castle Park, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-9 record this season.
Everything went Montgomery's way against Castle Park in their previous matchup last Monday, as Montgomery made off with a 3-0 victory. Do the Aztecs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Trojans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
