Softball Recap: Mortimer Jordan Takes a Loss

Mortimer Jordan lost against Oak Mountain back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Blue Devils have suffered since March 12th.

Tatum Hays T. was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Mortimer Jordan and nudges their season record down to 17-19. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Oak Mountain, they pushed their record up to 18-14 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coming up, Mortimer Jordan will host Cullman at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oak Mountain, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sumiton Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
