Apple Valley is 9-1 against Burroughs since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Sun Devils will be playing at home against the Burros at 3:15 p.m. Apple Valley is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.6 runs per game this season.
Apple Valley's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Granite Hills 14-0. The result was nothing new for the Sun Devils, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Brynne Johnson made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jordyn Gentile was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Ireland Jenkins was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run.
Apple Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Burroughs couldn't beat Oak Hills on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the third inning. The Burros came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 24-7.
Lorrain Gamble was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Reyna Bojorquez, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.
Apple Valley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-7-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Burroughs, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-14 record this season.
Burroughs' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Apple Valley has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Burroughs, though, as they've been averaging 9.5 hits. Given Apple Valley's sizable advantage in that area, the Burros will need to find a way to close that gap.
