Football Recap: Claysburg-Kimmel Bulldogs vs. Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers
Claysburg-Kimmel unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 35-7 loss at the hands of the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 467th, while the Mountaineers are ranked 192nd).
Mason Campagna threw for 163 yards and one touchdown. Jacob Herline was his top target, picking up 61 receiving yards and one score.
Seth Kimmel had an outrageously good game for Berlin Brothersvalley as he rushed for 99 yards and a pair of TDs on only ten carries. The dominant performance also gave Kimmel a new career-high in rushing touchdowns (two).
Coming up, Claysburg-Kimmel will face off against Northern Bedford County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Berlin Brothersvalley, they will take on Mount Union at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
