Football Recap: Fluvanna County Flying Flucos vs. Western Albemarle Warriors
Fluvanna County was the 32-3 winner over Western Albemarle when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Fluvanna County Flying Flucos took a 27-21 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Western Albemarle Warriors.
A big part of Western Albemarle's victory came down to the chemistry between Gray Heilman and his top target RJ Corbey. Heilman threw for 162 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.3% of his passes while Corbey picked up 107 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Fluvanna County's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Western Albemarle, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.
Fluvanna County will host Orange County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Orange County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Fluvanna County likes a good challenge. As for Western Albemarle, they will challenge Goochland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Western Albemarle is no doubt hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
