Basketball Game Preview: Amelia Academy Patriots vs. Millwood Bobcats

Amelia Academy is 0-3 against Millwood since November of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Patriots will look to defend their home court against the Bobcats at 6:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

On Wednesday, Amelia Academy took their matchup with ease, bagging a 68-33 victory over Fuqua. With the Patriots ahead 38-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Amelia Academy can attribute much of their success to Abdoul Tahirou, who made all 9 shots he took for 19 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals, and Shayne Jackson, who shot 53% from the field on his way to 17 points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Vayden White, who posted six points along with ten boards and three steals.

Meanwhile, Millwood had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victors by a 66-42 margin over Buford Road Christian Academy on Tuesday.
