Basketball Recap: Westlake Starts Season with Win Against Peekskill

Westlake gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They blew past the Peekskill Red Devils, posting a 62-22 win.

Despite the loss, Peekskill still got an impressive performance from Amari Murphy, who posted 16 points. Murphy's afternoon made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

Peekskill's loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Westlake didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 47-27 victory against Hastings on the 10th. Peekskill has also already played their next game, a 32-22 defeat against Nanuet on the 11th.
