Basketball Recap: Lincoln Takes a Loss

Lincoln lost against Bellarmine Prep two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lincoln Abes took a 65-50 bruising from the Bellarmine Prep Lions. While losing is never fun, the Abes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 137th, while the Lions are ranked 50th).

Bellarmine Prep was led to victory by Kyla Frazier and Melina Petramalo. Frazier posted 21 points in addition to eight boards and six steals, while Petramalo went 10 of 18 to rack up 27 points. Petramalo continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Jaela Jones, who scored 11 points and seven steals.

Lincoln now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Bellarmine Prep, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season.

Lincoln has already played their next match, a 57-51 victory against Gig Harbor on the 8th. As for Bellarmine Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 77-49 loss against North Thurston on the 8th.
