Softball Recap: Jserra Catholic Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for JSerra Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Santa Margarita Eagles on Tuesday, sneaking past 3-2. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Liliana Escobar spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on two hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

JSerra Catholic's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 13-11. As for Santa Margarita, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 15-7-1.

Looking ahead, Santa Margarita will look to defend their home field on the 23rd against Dana Hills at 4:00 p.m. JSerra Catholic will be paying especially close attention to the Eagles' matchup: after the Eagles faces off against the Dolphins, they'll take on JSerra Catholic again at 3:30 p.m. on the 24th.
