Baseball Recap: York Catholic Fighting Irish vs. York County Tech Spartans

York Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell just short of the York County Tech Spartans by a score of 5-3. The result was an unpleasant reminder to York Catholic of the 13-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture on April 6th.

Roman Manfredi made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. Aiden Zellnick was another key contributor, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

York Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for York County Tech, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York Catholic will take on Berks Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Berks Catholic knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past four games -- so hopefully York Catholic likes a good challenge. As for York County Tech, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Delone Catholic at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday.
