Softball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Robertsdale's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

While Robertsdale put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for St. Michael Catholic. Robertsdale was the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over St. Michael Catholic. The Golden Bears have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cardinals, too.

Ashton Mckey looked comfortable as she tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave her a new career-low.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Danica Parnell, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Olivia Parker, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and one triple.

Robertsdale always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Michael Catholic only posted an OBP of .000.

Robertsdale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. St. Michael Catholic is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-11.

Coming up, Robertsdale will face off against Daphne at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Daphne will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Robertsdale surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Michael Catholic, they will take on Davidson at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Davidson's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so St. Michael Catholic's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
