Basketball Recap: Yasin Diggs-Saleem's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Newark Central over Montclair

Newark Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Montclair Mounties, falling 68-48. The Blue Devils were down 53-30 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Newark Central's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Yasin Diggs-Saleem, who posted seven points and five rebounds. Tensy Oghenebiko also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Newark Central's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Montclair, they moved to 4-7 with that win, which also ended their five-game losing streak.
