Kaiser has won three straight games at home, while Summit has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Wednesday. The Cats will host the SkyHawks at 3:45 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Wednesday.
Kaiser had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Jurupa Hills on Wednesday. The Cats blew past the Spartans 13-3.
Vanessa Contreras made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Contreras was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with five RBI and two doubles. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Alyssa Montoya was a standout: she scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Aubriana Espinoza was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.
Kaiser always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Summit made easy work of Bloomington on Monday and carried off a 16-5 win.
Jysel Guerrero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alani Lopez was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Arianna Munoz, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
Kaiser is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Summit, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Kaiser might still be hurting after the 11-3 defeat they got from Summit in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Cats avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
