Barrie and the Don Bosco Cristo Rey Wolfpack will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Barrie is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Yeshiva on Tuesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Barrie was outmatched by Yeshiva and fell 73-38. Barrie was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 49-15.

Despite the defeat, Barrie saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brandon Adams, Jr. went 6 for 8 on his way to 13 points and seven rebounds. Rawle Tapper-Howard was another key player, putting up six points and five steals.

Meanwhile, Don Bosco Cristo Rey came into Friday's game having lost seven straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They managed a 60-55 win over Field on Friday. The score was all tied up 34-34 at the break, but the Wolfpack were the better team in the second half.

Don Bosco Cristo Rey had a senior duo take command as Tyler Marshall posted 29 points and Michael Matthews had 19 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Marshall has scored at least a third of Don Bosco Cristo Rey's points.

Barrie now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Don Bosco Cristo Rey, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-7.
