Recap: Coral Springs Charter Panthers vs. St. John Paul II Academy Eagles
This season hasn't been kind to the Coral Springs Charter Panthers, who are still winless after their sixth match. They had to suffer through a rough 71-26 loss at the hands of St. John Paul II Academy. Coral Springs Charter lost against St. John Paul II Academy in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 52-44 score last time.
St. John Paul II Academy was led to victory by Cristian Rosado and Dior Johnson. Rosado scored 15 points, while Johnson scored 13 points along with four steals. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Sebastian Mesa, who scored 11 points.
Coral Springs Charter's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-6. As for St. John Paul II Academy, their win bumped their record up to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Coral Springs Charter will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Taravella at 7:30 p.m. on December 12th. Taravella presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Coral Springs Charter in Florida (Taravella is ranked 238th, while Coral Springs Charter is ranked 714th). As for St. John Paul II Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Cardinal Gibbons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cardinal Gibbons will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
