St. Catherine came tearing into Wednesday's contest with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Living Word Lutheran Timberwolves by a score of 61-53. Given the Angels' advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 139th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Despite the loss, Living Word Lutheran still got an impressive performance from Easton Oliver, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. Oliver is becoming a predictor of Living Word Lutheran's success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is 6-1 (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Eric Britton, who posted eight points.

St. Catherine's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Living Word Lutheran, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.

St. Catherine's will take on Two Rivers at 12:30 p.m. on January 18th. As for Living Word Lutheran, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 92-37 victory against Catholic Central on the 11th.
