Bellevue hasn't had much luck against Calvary Christian recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Cougars at 5:30 p.m. Bellevue is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Bellevue not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 17th (when they won 24-0). They put the hurt on Newport with a sharp 19-1 victory. The win continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.
Bellevue got a big performance out of Maria Arzamendia, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Arzamendia a new career-high. Willow Lowe-Hoelmer was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Bellevue always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .889. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Calvary Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Ludlow, falling 13-2.
Kennedy Wright was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Ellie Gray also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Bellevue's victory bumped their record up to 8-12. As for Calvary Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11.
