Lakeside has gone a perfect 3-0 against Valley View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Lancers will host the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. Lakeside has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 20.

Paloma Valley hit Lakeside with a five-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Lancers lost 16-4 to the Wildcats.

Caleb Caparco made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Valley View had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Poly a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Not much got past Cameron Maciel, who gave up just three hits to keep Poly off the board. Maciel is becoming a predictor of Valley View's success: when he allows at most three hits the team is 2-1 (and 4-12 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Valley View secured the victory behind a pair of hitters. One of them was Deavon Mahoney, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Valley View, their win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 6-13.

Lakeside beat Valley View 5-1 in their previous matchup back in March. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
