Baseball Game Preview: Jordan Warriors vs. Cinco Ranch Cougars

Jordan is 0-4 against Cinco Ranch since March of 2023 but things could change on Friday. The Jordan Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cinco Ranch Cougars at 6:00 p.m. Jordan knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Cinco Ranch likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Jordan made easy work of Morton Ranch and carried off a 13-3 win. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Owen Wendt looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, Jackie Bryant was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last ten matchups. Another player making a difference was Cole Keppler, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Jordan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 11.

Meanwhile, Cinco Ranch can bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Katy Taylor 6-4.

Cinco Ranch's win bumped their record up to 9-10-1. As for Jordan, their victory bumped their record up to 13-6-1.

Jordan suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Cinco Ranch in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Jordan avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
