Basketball Recap: Northfield Piles Up the Points Against Taylor

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Northfield). They blew past the Taylor Titans 62-29 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Elli Baker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 of 12 en route to 20 points and four blocks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Another player making a difference was Callie Hoffman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Northfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

When it comes to explaining why Taylor lost, don't look at Jallainah Harris. Despite the final result, she posted 17 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Harris continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Northfield's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-4. As for Taylor, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-9.

Northfield wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 48-34 victory against Southwood on the 13th. As for Taylor, they will welcome Clinton Prairie at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Taylor is facing Clinton Prairie at the right time seeing as Clinton Prairie is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
