Football Recap: Dynamic Duo of Talon Spencer and Za'dyn Hall Lead Capistrano Valley to Victory

Capistrano Valley won the last time they faced Aliso Niguel and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars blew past the Wolverines 35-14. That 21 point margin sets a new team best for the Cougars this season.

Capistrano Valley was led to victory by Za'Dyn Hall and Talon Spencer. Hall rushed for 106 yards and two touchdowns, while Spencer threw for 103 yards and three TDs. Colin Hooper was in the mix as well, providing the Cougars with two scores.

Capistrano Valley didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Aliso Niguel to a completion percentage of just 43.3%. The Cougars weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 62.5%.

Capistrano Valley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Jack Schwenn led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by himself. Capistrano Valley got some further help from Jake Beisel: he picked up two sacks, forced one fumble, and made ten total tackles.

Aliso Niguel lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Devin Williams, who rushed for 75 yards and one touchdown. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 65 yards.

Capistrano Valley's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Aliso Niguel, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Capistrano Valley and Aliso Niguel should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Cougars will face off against Foothill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (120 vs. 255). Meanwhile, Aliso Niguel (ranked 218th) will meet Pacifica (ranked 470th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
