Basketball Recap: Tobie Matthews Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Franklin Academy

Tensas Academy not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since December 12, 2024 (when they won 55-21). They blew past the Franklin Academy Cougars 61-41. With the Chiefs ahead 39-13 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Tensas Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tobie Matthews, who posted 23 points. The game was Matthews' third in a row with at least 18 points. Colton Lardy was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Tensas Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tensas Academy will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Union Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Franklin Academy, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Prairie View Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 1.
