Softball Recap: Chesapeake Comes Up Short

Chesapeake was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They fell 7-2 to the Russell Red Devils.

Chesapeake saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KJ Collins, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

Chesapeake's loss dropped their record down to 7-14. As for Russell, their win bumped their record up to 8-16.

Coming up, Chesapeake will face off against Portsmouth at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Panthers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 7.7 runs per game this season. As for Russell, they have already played their next contest, a 14-3 defeat against Lincoln County on the 2nd.
