Basketball Game Preview: Mexico Bulldogs vs. Warrenton Warriors

The Mexico Bulldogs will head out on the road to face off against the Warrenton Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mexico has three straight wins, Warrenton has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Mexico is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat Palmyra 89-40. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Warrenton lost to Orchard Farm at home by a 63-47 margin last Friday. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Eagles are ranked 98th).

Mexico has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Warrenton, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Mexico didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Warrenton when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 67-62 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mexico since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
