While Umatilla didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-12), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on the Catlin Gabel Eagles with a sharp 11-1 win on Saturday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Vikings this season.

David Garcia was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

The victory (which was Umatilla's third in a row) raised their record to 5-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Vikings beat Catlin Gabel by a score of 14-3 later that day.
