Recap: Armwood Hawks vs. Sunlake Seahawks
On Thursday, Armwood was the victim of a rough 70-47 loss at the hands of Sunlake. While losing is never fun, Armwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 578th, while Sunlake is ranked 268th).
Despite the loss, Armwood still got an impressive performance from Talon Mckinnie, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malakai Francis, who scored nine points.
Armwood has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Sunlake, their win bumped their record up to 8-6.
Armwood won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gulf at 3:00 p.m. on January 5th. Gulf is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. Sunlake won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Robinson at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th. Robinson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Sunlake likes a good challenge.
