Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Starkville Academy

Starkville Academy had won two straight games and Kate Couvillion did her part to make it three on Monday. The Starkville Academy Volunteers came out on top against the Magnolia Heights Chiefs by a score of 36-24 thanks in part to Couvillion, who went 10 of 14 on her way to 23 points in addition to six boards and six steals. Those 23 points gave her a new career-high.

Starkville Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Magnolia Heights, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-2.

Starkville Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 55-35 victory against Marshall Academy on the 10th. As for Magnolia Heights, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lewisburg at 1:30 p.m. on December 20th.
