Baseball Recap: Trico Comes Up Short

Trico made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Carterville, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Pioneers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-0 on Wednesday. The loss continues a trend for the Pioneers in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost three in a row.

Trico's defeat dropped their record down to 7-13. As for Carterville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Trico will welcome Waterloo at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carterville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rangers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.88 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
