Corvian Community came out on top against Langtree Charter Academy on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run first inning. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Lions 7-5. The win continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Lions: they've now won four in a row.

Corvian Community saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin McElhinny, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Sam Stewart was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Corvian Community's record now sits at 11-12. As for Langtree Charter Academy, they dropped their record down to 11-10 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home.
