Baseball Game Preview: Plainview Indians vs. Duncan Demons

Plainview hasn't had much luck against Duncan recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Plainview Indians are taking a road trip to face off against the Duncan Demons at 5:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, Plainview came up short against Sulphur and fell 9-6. The loss was the Indians' first of the season.

Shepard Sisemore and Gavin Sheaman did some serious damage despite the final result: Sisemore scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3, while Sheaman scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylan Anderson, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Duncan came tearing into Tuesday's match with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Comets as they made off with a 7-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Duncan's victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Plainview, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Plainview suffered a grim 13-4 defeat to Duncan in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Plainview avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
