Volleyball Recap: Gibraltar Takes a Loss

Gibraltar lost against Algoma back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Vikings fell just short of the Wolves by a score of 3-2.

The 3-2 doesn't really show just how close this match was: all the sets Gibraltar lost were decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 27-25, 13-25, 21-25, 15-13.

Gibraltar has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season. Algoma's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-6.

Algoma didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Wittenberg-Birnamwood on the 20th. Hopefully Gibraltar paid attention to the Wolves' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Wolves at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
