Blackville-Hilda suffers sixth straight loss on the road

Recap: Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks vs. Denmark-Olar Vikings

The Blackville-Hilda Fighting Hawks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Denmark-Olar, falling 73-44. Blackville-Hilda has struggled against Denmark-Olar recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Blackville-Hilda lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaquel Holman, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Jamarien Priester, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.

Denmark-Olar was led to victory by Tykeen Ross and Terrance Hinton. Ross dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, while Hinton scored 22 points along with seven assists and seven rebounds. Ross is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Robert Bovain was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds.

Blackville-Hilda dropped their record down to 4-9 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. As for Denmark-Olar, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-3.

Blackville-Hilda will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Ridge Spring-Monetta at 8:00 p.m. Hopefully Ridge Spring-Monetta focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Denmark-Olar, they will head out on the road to square off against Hunter-Kinard-Tyler at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
