Hamilton beats Lakeland Preparatory for their third straight win

Recap: Hamilton Wildcats vs. Lakeland Preparatory Lions

The Hamilton Wildcats entered their tilt with the Lakeland Preparatory Lions with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Everything went Hamilton's way against Lakeland Preparatory on Thursday as Hamilton made off with a 32-8 win. Considering Hamilton has won three matchups by more than 23 points this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Lakeland Preparatory's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Connor Jones, who picked up 149 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Brett Godwin who threw for 214 yards and a touchdown.

Hamilton's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Lakeland Preparatory, Douglass, and Memphis East. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Hamilton will head out on the road to face off against Covington at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Covington knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully Hamilton likes a good challenge. As for Lakeland Preparatory, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Harding Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Harding Academy has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since September 1.
