Basketball Recap: Quemado Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

Quemado had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came out on top against the Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls by a score of 37-29. This was a revenge game for the Eagles: when they faced off against the Cowboys/Cowgirls back in January, they had to take a 42-33 loss.

Quemado's victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 28.7 points over those games. As for Cliff, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-2.

Looking ahead, Quemado will face off against Reserve at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cliff, they will challenge Magdalena at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cliff's defense has only allowed 29.4 points per game this season, so Magdalena's offense will have their work cut out for them.
