Basketball Recap: Borden Comes Up Short

Borden suffered their biggest defeat since January 13, 2024 on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 64-36 loss at the hands of the Christian Academy Warriors. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Braves have suffered against the Warriors since February 1, 2020.

Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but David Cook led the charge by going 9 for 14 on his way to 21 points. Joshua Renfro was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 16 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Borden and nudges their season record down to 10-7. As for Christian Academy, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Borden will square off against Springs Valley at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Christian Academy, they will challenge Evansville Christian at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
