Baseball Recap: NSU University Triumphs

NSU University got themselves on the board against Key West on Saturday, but Key West never followed suit. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Key West Conchs. This was a revenge game for the Sharks: when they faced off against the Conchs last Friday, they had to take a 6-4 defeat.

Aidan Jacobs tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Zachary Cairns, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1. What's more, he posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Devin Mila, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

NSU University's record is now 8-1. As for Key West, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Coming up, NSU University will host Pine Crest at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Key West, they are taking a road trip to square off against St. Thomas Aquinas at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Key West: 3.5, St. Thomas Aquinas: 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
