Softball Game Preview: Shelbyville Dragons vs. Garrison Bulldogs

The Shelbyville Dragons will head out to challenge the Garrison Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Shelbyville is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Rusk just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles.

Cadee Harley was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in hits. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Harvey, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Garrison, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They skirted past Martinsville 17-16. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bulldogs needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

The win snapped Garrison's losing streak at 17 games dating back to last season and leaves them with a 1-6 record. As for Shelbyville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Everything went Shelbyville's way against Garrison when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Shelbyville made off with a 17-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Shelbyville since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
