Babcock waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They were the clear victor by a 17-1 margin over the Island Coast Gators. The Trailblazers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 12 runs or more this season.
Lexi Haley was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Babcock got a massive performance out of Emmie Barritt, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Halle Harden also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Babcock always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .710. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .535 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Babcock's record is now 7-3. As for Island Coast, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Babcock will have a chance to go back-to-back against Island Coast: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on March 25th.
