Football Game Preview: West Warwick Wizards vs. Lincoln Lions

The West Warwick Wizards will square off against the Lincoln Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

West Warwick took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 47-14 win over Tolman.

West Warwick can attribute much of their success to Nathan Corona, who threw for 107 yards and two TDs while completing 88.9% of his passes.

Meanwhile, Lincoln faced Moses Brown in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Lions walked away with a 36-26 victory over the Quakers.

The win got Lincoln back to even at 1-1. As for West Warwick, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

West Warwick won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, slipping by Lincoln 21-20. Will the Wizards repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
