Basketball Recap: West Platte's Higher State Rank on Full Display on Tuesday

West Platte hadn't done well against Mound City recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The West Platte Bluejays walked away with a 28-20 win over the Mound City Panthers. Given the Bluejays' advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Panthers are ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Platte is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.2 points per game. As for Mound City, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-15.

West Platte wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 60-45 defeat against North Platte on the 30th. As for Mound City, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 52-27 victory against Polo on the 29th.
