Soccer Game Preview: Maclay vs. South Walton

The Maclay Marauders will take on the South Walton Seahawks in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Maclay will be coming into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Maclay's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 1-0 win from a begrudging Maclay squad. Their defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Zach Ghazvini, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, South Walton's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They and Niceville finished up their game with a 0-0 draw. The result kept the Seahawks happy, as they haven't lost a game since November 19th.

South Walton's draw makes their record 10-2-3 this season. As for Maclay, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-0-1.

Maclay was able to grind out a solid win over South Walton when the teams last played back in January, winning 3-1. Does Maclay have another victory up their sleeve, or will South Walton turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
