Recap: Haywood Christian Academy Red Wolves vs. Christian Family Academy Fire
The Haywood Christian Academy Red Wolves lost against the Christian Family Academy Fire back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Haywood Christian Academy was outmatched by Christian Family Academy at home and fell 70-35. While losing is never fun, Haywood Christian Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 650th, while Christian Family Academy is ranked 300th).
Several Red Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mathias Bryson, who scored 14 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bryson has scored all season. Noah Huber was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven blocks.
Haywood Christian Academy's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-11. As for Christian Family Academy, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Haywood Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at 6:45 p.m. on February 6th. Haywood Christian Academy is facing Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy at the right time seeing as Reynolds Mountain Christian Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Christian Family Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Lake Lure Classical Academy at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Christian Family Academy is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
