Softball Game Preview: Longmeadow Lancers vs. Easthampton Eagles

The Longmeadow Lancers will take on the Easthampton Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Longmeadow lost 10-3 to East Longmeadow on Wednesday. The Lancers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Longmeadow saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Livia Kelly, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Sofia Gordon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Easthampton unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against Longmeadow back in April, falling 28-0.

Longmeadow's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Easthampton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Longmeadow took their win against Easthampton in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 28-0 score. Will the Lancers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
