Morton is a perfect 10-0 against Scott Central since February of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Panthers will look to defend their home field against the Rebels at 10:00 a.m. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Morton took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Louisville, sneaking past 16-14. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Meanwhile, Scott Central narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Ridgeland 5-4.

Phoebe Black tossed a big game, striking out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits.

At the plate, Kadelyn Washington was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Jimma Bell, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Scott Central was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgeland only posted a batting average of .208.

Scott Central now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Morton, the victory got them back to even at 2-2-1.

Morton got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in February of 2025 against Scott Central by a conclusive 14-5 score. Do the Panthers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
