Basketball Recap: Community Christian's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Community Christian waltzed into their game on Saturday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Faith Christian Academy Conquerors with a sharp 68-47 victory. This was a revenge game for the Cyclones: when they faced off against the Conquerors on February 4th, they had to take a 76-73 loss.

Community Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Gattis, who went 12-for-17 to rack up 28 points. Gattis' afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Beamon, who dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 rebounds.

Community Christian was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Faith Christian Academy only nine assists.

Despite the defeat, Faith Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jaxon Howard posted 19 points in addition to seven assists and five boards. That was a full 40.4% of Faith Christian Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row Howard has had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ibn Triplin, who put up seven points and seven rebounds.

Community Christian's record is now 22-4. As for Faith Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 16-5.

As of now, neither Community Christian nor Faith Christian Academy have any future games scheduled.
