Basketball Game Preview: Northern Durham Knights vs. Jordan Falcons

Northern Durham hasn't had much luck against Jordan recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Northern Durham Knights will host the Jordan Falcons at 6:30 p.m.

Northern Durham is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They had to suffer through a 65-14 loss at the hands of Chapel Hill. The Knights were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.

Meanwhile, Jordan was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past East Chapel Hill 64-19. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 24 points or more this season.

Jordan's win came from a few key players Northern Durham will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Olivia Yancey, who went 11 for 21 on her way to 22 points. Valerie-ange Batta was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Jordan was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Chapel Hill only posted two assists.

The win made it two in a row for Jordan and bumps their season record up to 16-6. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 17.5 points over those games. As for Northern Durham, their loss dropped their record down to 0-14.

Northern Durham was taken down by Jordan 56-11 in their previous meeting last Monday. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Yancey, who went 5 of 7 en route to 16 points and five assists.
