Softball Recap: Heritage Academy Has No Trouble Against Ridgeline Academy

Heritage Academy won the last time they faced Ridgeline Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Heroes blew past the Eagles 20-4. The Heroes might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by eight runs or more this season.

Tatum Meeker was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 3-for-3. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Sarahi Rico was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and four runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Person, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

Heritage Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .567. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .391 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Heritage Academy's record now sits at 14-1. As for Ridgeline Academy, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-4.

Looking ahead, Heritage Academy will head out to challenge Mission Heights Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Heroes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Phantoms have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Ridgeline Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Heritage Academy at 4:30 p.m. The Heroes will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
