Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Central Takes a Loss

St. Joseph Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 16-15 heartbreaker at the hands of the West Carter Comets. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Irish of the 3-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Hudson Moosavi was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mason Watts, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

St. Joseph Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for West Carter, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-5.

St. Joseph Central wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-4 victory against Grace Christian on the 11th. As for West Carter, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-2 loss against Mason County on the 12th.
